What is the Best Upcoming Nissan Frontier?

Nissan is coming up with something distinctly Japanese with its updated 2020 Nissan Frontier. The auto giant is revamping the old model by putting the powertrain of the next-gen pickup truck into its current pickup.

Launching pompously at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show, the upcoming 2020 Nissan Frontier will be available with the 2021 Nissan Frontier's latest 3.8-liter direct-injection V-6 engine, which packs 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque coupled with a new 9-speed automatic transmission.

The Tennessee-built engine takes the place of the aging 261-hp, 4.0-liter V-6 engine. It puts the 152-hp 4-cylinder out for good. The enhanced powertrain utilizes an advanced version of the 9-speed automatic that now comes in the Nissan Titan, which is a full-size pickup.

The interesting aspect of this powertrain is that the automaker claims the fuel economy for the powerful V-6/nine-speed combo is better than that of the current, which features a 4-cylinder and 5-speed combination of 19, 23, 21 mpg on city, highway, and both combined.

Nissan does not make any changes to the rest of the truck. The only addition is the modified interior center console to fit a push-button start. All of them now come with a manual tilt steering column, leather shift knob, power windows, and power locks.

The equipment, suspension, and even the weight of the pickup truck are pretty much the same. It still comes with Crew Cab or King Cab, short or long bed, 2- or 4-wheel-drive. The auto giant has also streamlined the lineup. So, your choices now will be Frontier King Cab in S and SV trims, and 4-door crew cab in S and SV trims and Pro-4X off-road trim (4x4 only).

The base Frontier King Cab S trim models are supposed to be an awesome bargain. The weight of the base variant pickup trucks is only 3,700 pounds. With the tremendous power and availability of many gears, being behind the wheels is surely fun.
